Hong Kong 2014 Day 2: Big Buddha

Good morning blogger~ Here goes 2nd day of hong kong trip! Trying to invent new ways to blog so i dont have to blog that much yaw for the upcoming bangkok trip haha~ Can't wait!

1st morning in bangkok and the sky's gloomy! Would totally advice people not to go to hong kong during the first week of april there's always sudden downpour or gloomy weather which makes it not "photo perfect". But there are good days too though

Went to our fav cha chan teng for breakfast and hongkong has a strict rule that everyone must order at least 1 set! But the thing is their 1 set can be shared by 2 person in singapore! What i usually order from here is the breakfast set which consists of a bowl of maggi noodles in ham, a plate of scramble egg, luncheon meat and 2 toast and a cup of milk tea!!! Super nice but super full! Not to mention we also dabao bo lo bao and beef pie everyday back to the hotel omg

After breakfast, we went shopping near the area and hong kong citizens are really very cute in terms of how they wear themselves in different situations it's amazing everytime i see it haha! There's one street which i forgotten the name but the whole street sells pets and fishes~

Bought their super fresh fruits like seriously it tastes so nice and sweet it's unbelievable lool! Then went back to the hotel to rest and prepare for our trip to Lantau to visit the Big Buddha!

I think we rested about 2-3 hours before finally preparing look at my swollen face which is due to the curse habit of sleeping after eating T.T Totally miss the hotel as i'm typing this now!!!! So big and comfy somemore sigh!! And my parents are funny at the whole trip the whole family sleeps in way too much and our schedules always get delayed and they always drag here drag there which made everything worse lol

Virgin trip to the MTR and basically this is our only transport for the whole trip in our 8 days there! Super easy and convenient the MTR is just below the hotel and there'a an app that tells you how to transfer all these. It's basically our bible to survive in hong kong haha!
The very comfy MTR

Finally after like 3 trains transfer we reached the end of hong kong! Tung Chung! Where the airport, disleyland and cable cars are! Not forgetting the awesome citygate outlet shopping mall with soooooooooooooooooo much shops that sells branded at factory price (might be an older season of stuffs so dont expect to find new season of clothes of shoes there) BUT IT'S STILL AWESOME

Bought the tickets beforehand and printed out the vouchers to beat the queue on the actual day and who knows when we went there was no queue at all! Maybe because it's a weekday i guess? Opted for the round  way package which consists of: 1 way trip to Lantau via crystal cabin and back in normal cabin! The crystal cabin was sooooooooo scary seriously it's like 360 also glass! Roof floor windows all a few times i thought of how dangerous it'll be if we fall and die! Especially since i can see what's below me! Parents were both too scared to look below haha luckily it was a very safe ride

And once we touch down at Ngong Ping Village... BAM! I feel like i was the only breathing human that's not afraid of the wind, cold and rain lolol everyone else was in padded jackets omg it's cold but i quite high tolerant to coldness one so COME ON WEATHER I NOT SCARED OF YOU!

DAD MODEL SEH
Super beautiful wishing tree which i suppose to grant your wish when you write and tie your wish on the tree! Did not do it myself but saw others writing their wish and hanging it!

The weather got even crazier as we were going and i guess the temperature was only aroun 5 degree? HAHA i wore a thick padded jacket in japan when it's 5 degree but I AINT SCARED OF THE COLS *sneezze* Rested at a rest stop with a few shops selling souvenirs and bites! Waited for the rain to clear and i was totally oblivious of the big buddha that's hidden admists the fog when i took the photo omg only realise later on and was shock that we're soooo far away can see the buddha what if we're near?

SEE! HIDDEN INSIDE THE FOG
Asked a foreigner to help us take a polaroid and she did not even say 1,2,3 and just took while i was not ready! But still grateful to her for helping us take!
And we finally reached the stairs that will lead us to the big buddha! It's a crazy number of stairs dont even wanna think about it if you look at the photo below cannot even see the end of the stair man!!! Imagine people who go during summer sure very hot! We started our journey of climbing the stairs and i think it took us 30 minutes before we reached the top? Plus intervals where we rest for like a minute

Mumsy had a hard time climbing!! She keep saying: STILL GOT SOME MORE AH

And after we reach the top i thought: damn sian liao so foggy and cannot see the buddha at all except he's silhouette only waste time climb sia!!!! BUT lucky we stayed for quite a long time to rest

Sat down, took more polaroids, rest more, and.........

FINALLY THE FOG STARTS TO CLEAR!!!!!!!!!! CAN SEE BIG BUDDHA'A HAND!
AND FINALLY! AS A SUDDEN STRONG WIND GUST THROUGH US, IT BLEW THE FOG AWAY AND WE CAN SEE HOW BEAUTIFUL BIG BUDDHA IS! IT'S QUITE AN EYE OPENER I RECOMMEND EVERYONE WHO GOES TO HONG KONG MUST ADD THIS IN YOUR LSIT! Hurriedly we spam took photos! But the person who took it use such a low angle lollll
Look at my mum face! Like saying: WHAT YOU LOOKING AT HUH

Beautiful and mind clearing view while you're standing at the hightest point~
So beautiful

Walked over to where the washrooms are and got an interesting view of the buddha's back! Cant resist taking a jump shot but my parents dont seem to have skill in taking action photos haahaha

And down we go back to the ngong ping village! Going down is way more fun then coming up man!

Look at the insane flight of stairs! Cannot even see the top man!

And now that the weather cleared up~ More photos of the beautiful place!

Standard cable car back this time round except that it's more scary because it became more foggy and hazier and you can't even see the cable cars in front or at the side!!!! But nearing one of a checkpoint a group of japs waved to us from their cabin and i waved back lol

CITYGATE OUTLET MALL! I've been anticipating this place even before we came to hongkong and it did not dissapoint me at all! Branded at cheaper price! Not that cheap got a pair of nike high cut for like $70 sgd but compared to singapore it's reasonably cheap already

Lunch at their food republic before we continue our venture and i miss the taste of their chicken! When my dad bought the chicken the person ask him: you come from singapore the best chicken rice place why come hong kong still eat chicken rice loolllll my dad dunno how to answer him
CONTINUE SHOPPING!

Look at all the YSL heels and shoe on sale

Couldn't resist buying some stuffs from sasa! Got too much i have to sayyy but oh well!

And so before we headed back to the hotel we took a trip down to their supermarket and bought some toiletries and food yumzxzx

BUYS~~~`

We slacked too much and it's already 10pm and some places are already closed for the night so we walked and walked and found an amazing dimsum shop and we went dimdim sum almost everyday after! Opened till 4am good supper place! And it's one michelin star too can compete with timhowan

LET THE FOOD ROLL BEGINS! Really hate this yam potato thing never ordered again
MUST ORDER EVERYTIME WE COME! THEIR CARROT CAKE IS GOOOOOOOD
Signature bo lo bun (pineapple bun) yumzx
Har kow and the veg dumpling is my dad's fav
SIEW MAI IS MY ULTIMATE FAV! SO JUICY AND TENDER
Yam balls i think
Glutinous rice is also good!
Had a very filling dinner and went back to the hotel~ watched some tv and fell asleep maybe i was too tired i tend to not get comfortable with any hotels and any bed on my first few days somemore my dad snores like a tiger roaring!!! But did not wake up at all lol
